Pessada is a short drive of approximately 12kms east of the capital Argostoli. It boasts great views over an exquisite bay full of small fishing boats taking you back to a different time. A small path leads directly to the beach, this underdeveloped bay with it's crystal waters and sugary sand is perfect for leaving it all behind.

In and around Pessada

Myrtos Beach

About an hours drive north across the island is the famous Myrtos Beach, just south of the town of Assos. There are roadside viewpoints where stunning beach views can be photographed. The white shingle horseshoe shaped beach is set off by the amazing turquoise blue water. You can drive down the winding road and spend some time on the beach itself. It is one of the most photographed beaches in Greece, and has won worldwide admiration for its beauty.

Visit Assos on the North coast

About an hours drive away you'll find Assos, a secluded village with only 100 inhabitants found on the North West coast of the island. The horseshoe shaped harbour, beautiful coastal scenery, with the hillside draped in pine and cypress trees, ensures Assos to be a romantic destination. The village has some fine examples of Venetian architecture and if you are lucky, one of the uninhabited houses may have a door ajar and you can glimpse a time gone by.

  • Gentilini wine tour

No trip to Kefalonia would be complete without a visit to the Genelini winery. Just a short drive away enjoy world renowned wines in the natural setting of the garden. Wine has been made on Kefalonia since ancient times, but more recently a French entrepreneur set up a winery on the island in the 1850's. Kefalonia is the only Ionian island to be granted " appellation of origin " for it's wines and not one but three, Muscat, Robola and Mavrodaphne. Check out their tours
