Sami is located on the north east coast of Kefalonia, just 24 km from Argostoli. The water front is tree-lined with glorious views across to the island of Ithaca, with plenty of tavernas, restaurants and bars to choose from – many serving the catch of the day from local fishermen.

A number of the restaurants display photographs of their friend Nicolas Cage who starred in the film, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The majority of the filming took place in and around Sami, and indeed many of the locals were extras in the film.
