Surrounded by cypress tree covered hillsides and small coves, Fiscardo is situated on the northern tip of Kefalonia; an area so beautiful the Greek government have protected it by law. Stepping back in time you can wander through the small fishing village and imagine when the Venetians ruled Kefalonia. The pretty waterfront is enclosed by pastel coloured Venetian style houses. The harbour has a large choice of cafés and restaurant's where you can enjoy traditional Greek cuisine or something a little more cosmopolitan, and watch as the luxurious yachts arrive in the marina, to moor for the evening. As dusk settles you can relax, enjoy a coffee or ice cream and delight in the colours of Ithaca changing from blues and greens to dusky pinks, a perfect end to the day.

Beaches
The beaches in and around Fiscardo all have white pebbles and amazing scenery as well as beautiful crystal clear water. Emblisi and Foki beaches are either side of Fiscardo’s fishing village, easy to find and to get to. For an amazing lunch in a taverna on a beach or to sip a cocktail whilst romantically watching the sun set, then head to either Agia Jerusalim or Alaties beaches. If you enjoy a nice walk to a beach you will find Dafnoudi and Kimilia are just perfect.

Adventure
Fiscardo has a sheltered, natural quay, providing a safe and convenient base from which to explore the surrounding beaches and coves by sea. A visit to Fiscardo is not complete without a trip out in a boat. Be your own captain by hiring a self-drive motorboat. You will open a whole new area of beautiful coastline to explore. It is easy to find numerous coves and bays – some of which are inaccessible by land and so it is possible to find your own private beach for the day. Visit Fiscardo Boat Hire for additional details.
Tantalisingly close is Kefalonia’s sister island, Ithaca, too far to swim, but only a short boat trip across the channel from Fiscardo. Once there you can indulge in the mythical stories of Homers Odyssey.

Hiking
If you can drag yourself away from the beaches and sea you will find some brilliant walks to enjoy. There are a range of foot paths that are signposted to lead you on walking trails to enjoy the flora and fauna, old villages and Roman remains, caves and beaches, for more information visit Paths of Greece.

Fishing
A rewarding way to spend the day is to go out on a boat and catch the ‘Dish of the Day’! Fiscardo Chandlers are found just along the harbour and you can find all the equipment you need to catch lovely fresh fish for dinner.

Diving
The beautiful crystal clear waters provides fabulous swimming experiences for all ages. Fiscardo Divers is run by a Master Scuba Trainor who is also a biologist, carrying out underwater scientific research. Fiscardo Divers have a range of activities to choose from including snorkeling, trial dives and padi dives.
